Our Story
Situated in Dexter, GA, Wilson Automotive Repair was founded by Laurens County native Richard Wilson. As owner/operator and lead automotive technician, Richard’s journey began as a self-taught mechanic at 16. Since then, Richard has embarked on a distinguished career marked by academic excellence and professional success. In 2016, Richard began honing his automotive skills while working at a local Toyota dealership. He was selected to attend the University of Toyota’s STEM Education Program. He then became an ASE-Master Certified Technician, passing all eight ASE certifications on his first attempt. According to ASE statistics, Richard became one of only 26,000 L1-certified Technicians in the country when he obtained his Advanced Engine Performance Specialist (L1) Certification in 2021. He also became a Toyota/Lexus Master Diagnostic Technician (MDT) that same year, the highest skill level attainable with Toyota/Lexus. Richard and his wife, Christina, are committed to participating in community and environmental initiatives as a family business. Wilson Automotive Repair is committed to environmental stewardship through a comprehensive approach. Our efforts to be good stewards of the environment begin in our lobby with recycling receptacles for plastics, aluminum cans, and cardboard as part of Dexter City Collection Center’s recycling efforts. When it comes to auto repair and maintenance services, we have taken steps to reduce, reuse, and recycle products. Used motor oil is collected and recycled by Tri-State Oil. In contrast, scrap metals and aluminum, including oil filters, brakes, and rotors, are responsibly recycled through the Laurens County Collection Center. We are also certified by the Mobile Air Climate Systems (MACS) Association for proper refrigerant recycling and service procedures as part of a requirement under Section 609 of the Clean Air Act. Any non-recyclable or non-repurposable products are broken down and contained to minimize impacts on wildlife. We’re not just a provider of auto services.
